Pedaling Towards Wellness: My Alps to Ocean Adventure

As many of you know, I’m passionate about naturopathy AND exploring the beautiful landscapes of New Zealand, and what better way to combine those passions than with a biking adventure?


Back in March of 2022, my partner, my mum (yes, she’s an adventurer too!), and I embarked on a multi-day cycling trip with some friends on the Alps to Ocean Cycle Trail. It was an incredible experience filled with stunning scenery, physical challenges, and plenty of laughter.


The trail starts amidst the majestic Southern Alps, with snow-capped peaks towering overhead. We started halfway through in Omarama where we cycled through picturesque valleys, along the edge of Mount Benmore, alongside glacial rivers, and past turquoise lakes. The scenery is simply stunning.


As you continue your journey, the landscape transforms. You’ll pedal through rolling farmland, past charming towns, and eventually reach the dramatic coastline of the Pacific Ocean. The sense of accomplishment as you dip your tires in the ocean is truly something special.
